Well, there are a couple of ways to go about starting your own website. The first is the easiest, free sites. There really isn’t much to explain here in fact most internet providers offer them with your internet service so I won’t even go into them here.

The second is to get a hosted account, domain name and do it yourself. If it doesn’t sound like something you want to try, don’t worry, I’m here to help. I will walk you through the basics you need to know to get started.

The first thing you need to know is what you domain name will be. A domain name is the web address that you type into your browser to go to a website (i.e. yourwebsites.com). Once you have decided what your domain will be the hard part is over.

The next thing to do is just go to a hosting provider and pick out a plan. To start just go with a small package deal, you wont need much to get started and it will only cost you about $6 a month (paid annually) plus the domain name registration which is about $15 a year.

Once you get all setup then follow the instructions from your hosting provider to log into your Cpanel. This is usually yourdomain.com/Cpanel and the use the username and password you signed up with or whatever the provider gave you.

In your Cpanel you will see a link towards the bottom called Fantastico it has a little blue smiley face icon, click on it and will tons of free site building software that will create websites depending on what you want to do. See our blog post below on how to set up your own blog.
